Sir Charles Tennant - The Tennants Consolidated Group is one of the largest privately owned chemical groups in Europe. It was started in 1797 by the famous Glaswegian entrepreneur, Sir Charles Tennant, who also founded the United Alkali Company, one of the forerunners of Imperial Chemical Industries (I.C.I.).
