What to expect in Q3 & Q4 at TTC? - August 2021
Welcome to our August Newsletter!
As we pass the halfway mark in the year we reflect on a successful year to date and thank our customers for your unstinting support.
So far 2021 has been extremely challenging, particularly in relation to the supply chain for raw materials with shortages and logistics challenges pushing up costs in an unrelenting manner. There appears to be no respite from these challenges on the immediate horizon with costs continuing to rise and shipping space becoming increasingly difficult to secure.
In spite of these challenges I am proud to report that TTC’s OTIF performance remains well ahead of our 90% target, however, I would continue to urge caution and ask our customers to please give us as much notice as possible of your requirements so that we can be sure to continue to meet your expectations.
Our new pigment Plant in India (Asahi Tennants Color) continues to progress well and a range of products is now available to our customers, more details are included below including a brief video of the plant for your viewing!
In response to our customer's requests, we have also recently developed an online document portal for our customers whereby you can obtain your own customer-specific login and have 24/7 access to various documentation on our products (SDS / TDS / COA). The initial trials of this portal have received excellent feedback from our customers and we are now in a position where we can widen the offering to additional customers. Behind the scenes!
Asahi Tennants Color Pvt Ltd (ATC) officially opened its new AZO Pigment Factory in Dahej, India on 19th November 2020. The factory is a Joint Venture between TTC and Ashi Songwon and manufactures AZO Pigments for a range of applications including Textile, Paint, Plastic and Ink.
Combining TTC's AZO Pigment Technology and Asahi's expertise in pigment manufacturing in India the plant is producing high quality, high purity pigments designed to meet the increasing regulatory requirements in our world today.
This success is the accumulation of a lot of hard work and dedication which we are proud to now share with our valued customers, suppliers and stakeholders!

Earlier this month, The TTC team were celebrating the continued hard work and dedication of our staff with a much appreciated sweet treat!
The Ice Cream Van was a small gesture of the companies thanks to all of the people that help make TTC Ltd the business it is today!
WORKING WITH THE COMMUNITY
Today we export to over 50 countries worldwide, something we proudly celebrate as an international company with strong plans for future growth! We have however been headquartered in Belfast for over 70 years and have not forgotten the community that has helped support us along the way!
Our Customer Service Representative, Nicole Leihe, has worked with TTC to arrange a collection of Animal Supplies including food, toys and clothing to be donated to Assisi Animal Sanctuary in the local community.
The closure of their shop fronts during COVID was the loss of their primary revenue stream and so the donation was welcome support of the fantastic work they provide!
HIGH-PERFORMANCE PIGMENTS
Tennants Textile Colours Ltd (TTC) has a long history in the manufacture of pigments. We have been manufacturing pigment for over 70 years and have extensive knowledge and expertise in the art of producing high-quality organic pigments for a variety of industries such as Textile, Paint & Coatings, Paper & Packaging, Ink, plastics, and rubber.
In 2019 we embarked on a joint venture creating Asahi Tennants Colour Pvt in Dajeh, India, focusing on manufacturing AZO pigments. The new production facility coming online in the first quarter of 2021.
A Pigment is a coloured powder that is completely or nearly insoluble when mixed in a liquid and is used especially to impart colour into the desired material. The Egyptians created what is believed to be the first synthetic pigment between 2,000 and 3,000 BC using calcium copper tetrasilicate to create a turquoise shade known as Egyptian blue.
